Our country is extremely recognized all over the world for its cultural dresses. The quality fabric that we have within our country is highly cherished all around the globe. Like we have a variety of fabric known as Georgette, it is a very graceful and slightly slippery fabric and it is used in making numerous products. Its history dates back to ancient times when clothing was discovered.
Georgette Fabric is a textile usually made from Silk. Though, some synthetic fibers like polyester are also used. The quality of Georgette fabric is that its texture is crinkly crepe-light which gives a fabric flowing and bouncy looks but is quiet rough and dull. This fabric is available in different colors and prints. Georgette can easily be dyed into numerous colors. It is slightly thin and is light in weight.
To sew this fabric is not that easy as this fabric is textured and slightly slippery. Normally a piece of tissue is placed between to pieces of fabric that helps to keep the fabric together. As a general rule, one should wash this fabric with hands with a little amount of detergent and hang it for drying but to avoid fading it should be kept out of the sun.
The fabric used in it are highly twisted, which causes them to crumple as they relax. It has a natural shine in it that makes it more attractive. Georgette stuff is mostly worn in pleasant weather as it is not an ideal fabric for summer. This stuff is suitable for making cushion covers as it gives grace to it. This fabric stands out really well and adds flare to a dress.
Contrasting from some fine silks, georgette fabric is strangely strong, and it seize up well to diverse wear. Georgette is used in making of many fancy dresses like bridal gowns, evening dresses and many other wear as well. Even stuff like jackets and shirts are usually made from this fabric. Mostly women variety is made out of it. This fabric can be made in different styles it can be left plain or some embroidery or beading can be added to it to enhance its elegance. Normally decorations are kept uncomplicated so that it does not drag the fabric down and pull the clothing out of shape.
