Dr. Israr Ahmad was a prominent Pakistani Muslim scholar which Pakistan, India, Middle East and the United States, had its sphere of influence. He was born in a district of Haryana India on April 26, 1932.
He was the founder of the Islamic organization “Tanzeem e Islami” which seeks the establishment of a caliphate in Pakistan. Its Headquarter is located in Lahore, Pakistan
Professional Background
After the formation of Pakistan, he moved to Lahore and passed his F.Sc with distinguished marks from Government College Lahore.After that he completed his M.B.B.S from King Edward Medical College Lahore in 1954 and later moved to University of Karachi to receive his Master’s degree. He also did his Medical practice until the 1971’s.
Political Life
During his education, Dr. Israr Ahmad started taking part in Politics and joined “Islami Jamiat Talba Pakistan” of which he became Nazim e Aala Pakistan (Head of the organization).
After his education, he joined “Jmaat e Islami Pakistan” but after few times due to his conflicts with “Jammat e islami” he left Jamaat and started concentrating on his Islamic Research. After that, he laid stone of his own party named “Tanzeem e Islami” of which he was head as founder chairman. Dr. Israr also became a part of General Zia’s “Majlis e Shura” in 1981 and recognizing his services government of Pakistan awarded him with civil award “Sitara e Imtiaz”. Dr. Israr was not in the favor of democratic process, he preferred Islamic Caliphate system instead of democracy. He was also against of foreign intervention in Islamic countries by west.
As Islamic scholar
After the formation of the “Tanzeem e Islami”, his all energies had been devoted to the research and publication. He has written more than 100 books, many of which have been translated into other languages. Interpretation of the Quran and Prophetic Hadith were his most famous books. Famous Indian Muslim scholar Dr. ZakirNaik had a close relationship with him. In this context, he made several trips of India too. Internationally he was known as famous Mufassir -e- Quran and with no exaggeration hundreds of his audio, video lectures have been translated into many languages of the world. He also gave lectures on Television about Islam and Science. He tried to portray the true image of Islam, which played an important role in encouraging Muslims, which can never be forgotten.

Death
Dr. Israr Ahmed was suffering from serious heart disease from a very long time and it became the reason of his death on April 14, 2010 at the age of 78 years. He was buried in Garden Town Cemetery. Dr. Israr Ahmed Late left behind a widow, four sons and five daughters.
