PITB

The term IT or Information technology is defined as receiving, processing, storing and distributing of picture, articulate, text, numeric information through ‘micro-electronics’ with the compilation of computing & tele-communication. Information technology word was first introduced in Harvard Business Review.

Following are the technologies which will be included further such as bioinformatics, global information and cloud computing that will enhance the technology world. Information technology has opened a new era for today generation in all aspects like business, education department and the research department. With help of information technology (IT) one can gather info immediately and a person is up to date within a minute. Also with its help efficiency of product is increased, profits are increased and most important high quality of accuracy which helps the person to work in an effective way.

PITB also referred as Punjab Information and technology board which foundation stone was laid by the Govt. of Punjab. The aim of Punjab Information and Technology board (PITB) is to make Punjab centre and the focus point of IT through human resources, IT education, economic growth, infrastructure development, research and development, creation centre of excellence and applying of E-Governance Policy. PITB advised its use in both sectors i.e. public and the private one in order to increase accuracy, profits and the productivity. This board had acquired quite fame overall as it had given total attention on their aims and objectives. PITB job is to be familiar with the needs of the people and to ensure them that the work done should meet everybody expectation and assumption.

Information and technology is one of the fastest growing corporations of the world. Pakistan felt the need of requiring of such department which will truly based on IT. The work of this department would be to oversee the opportunities, help in growing the requirement of IT. As a result IT industry came into being on 1999 under the name Punjab Information and Technology board. An ordinance was also passed by the governor on 27^th Mar, 1999. Hence PITB was created on 15^th OCT, 2001.
