Thatta is being proud to be one of the historical, ancient cities situated 4 miles from Indus River in Sindh province, Pakistan. Thatta is famous for the amazing Shah Jahan Mosque, also for the world largest necropolises. This necropolises is located in Makli is about 15 kilometers having hundred of houses and is the home of millions of graves (i.e. 1.25 Million). In history this city was also a learning place had approximately four hundred institutions where people from all over Muslim countries come for knowledge.
This history is divided into three different period, the first period belong to the Mughal period (200 years) including Jan Baba, Jani Beg etc, the second period is of the Tarkhan (16th century) including Baki Beg Tarkhan, Isa khan Tarkhan, etc, the third period is of the Samma dynasty (14th to 16th century) including Jam Nizamuddin, Mubarak khan etc. The entire tombs situated there were excellently designed. All the architectures who work in the tombs building constructed the magnificently. Every tomb was a great piece of art work. Among the glorious architecture building are the tomb of Samma King, a building made from sand stone in square shaped, other one is the tomb of Isa Khan; this tomb is among the largest tomb of all situated there. Tomb of Jan Baba is constructed amazingly with excellent piece of architecture designed on the walls of the tomb.
The stone are carved and joint beautifully which enhances its beauty and attracts many tourist towards it. Tomb is decorated with floral designs & geometric Medallions. The bricks from which the tomb building was constructed were accurate and perfectly baked that when the bricks were so hard when tapped it sounds came out from it which resembles to the sound of metal. Enamel tiles which were use in the construction reflect the designs in Iran while the stone carving and other such things reflects Persian style. Pakistan is the city with beautiful sceneries and also for the historical building which attracts many people towards it. People should visit these tombs and see the great art works which were done by earlier people.
