Pakistan Television Corporation is national television broadcaster of our beloved country. With the passage of time and space, media molded itself to meet the challenges of present age. Presently seven channels are owned under the PTV banner. PTV is not a self centered institute, vividly understands the need of each province and their urge to promote culture and social values. The motive behind regional centers was to give equal opportunity to all. In 1974, Quetta with Peshawar center was established.
Media serves three important roles: entertainment, education and information. PTV is strictly stuck to it. To make its production effective, programs are now produced in three major lingual i.e. Balochi, Bravi and Pashto. Quetta center has taken the big responsibility by handling the channel- PTV Bolan. Center solely organize its production, promotes regional cultural norms, customs and literature.
Live transmissions with feed back and recorded programs are on-air. Guests are invited to talk about different challenges the districts are facing and development projects carried out.
Colossal building homes the production of programs. Majority of shows are recorded with in the building. The crew and staff are well educated in their field.
Dramas, long plays, tele-films, children programs bulletins and what not, speak volumes about efficiency of center. Drama’s like Dhuwan, Aas, Ghar ky khatir and Sutoon etc are one of the finest work ever produced. Public is still willing to tune again to these dramas.
Quetta center has the honour of working with not only senior artist of other regions like Atiqua Odho, Noman Ejaz, Qavi khan or Abid Ali, but also raising many to stardom. The pride and joy of Balochistan: Farooq Mengal, Jamal Shah, Javed Jamal, Ayub Khan and Hasam Qazi.
Indeed Quetta center is essential member of PTV family.
