There was no medical institute before 1972 in Balochistan. After serious thinking, unanimously it was agreed to establish Bolan Medical College in March 1972. Since 1947 and 1972 students took keen interest in  medical profession to pursue it in other provinces or study abroad that was not affordable for all. Students suffering finally came to an end when BMC classes started. Only MBBS studies were conducted but BDS was cornered. Dental classes started in 1985 and up till now 150 BDS professional qualified from BMC. Approximately 3,200 doctors are qualified and 28^th batch is due to pass out. Effectively abiding the promise made.

Prof Dr Shahnaz Naseer Baloch (MBBS, FCPS), chair the apex authority of college. All lecturers are highly qualified, along with MBBS. They are M.Phil or FCPS qualified. The college is recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and for the purpose of examination affiliated with Balochistan University. Annually 217 students get enrolled for MBBS and 36 for BDS after tough competition. Only lucky and hard working students make across the line.

All the major subjects are taught under one roof, presently 32 departments deal with different discipline. College, hospital, hostel and doctors residential area are all in one place. To ease financial burden, fee structure is kept nominal. Scholarship is offered to all deserving candidates.

Many future projects are in pipelines like computer literacy classes, establishing resource center, upgrading library, inception of medical education department and diploma courses in basic medical sciences etc. last year, medical education program has been introduces.

Institute is taking all those measures necessary to bring their students on equal footing of other colleges nationally and internationally. Enlightening them with required knowledge. Surely after God, doctors who decide our fate.
