People of any particular area, however, in some cases can be branded by their habit of eating that, which type of the food items they like the most. They like vegetables, or a dish that contains mutton or beef, etc. One more thing a recipe can be an identification of the people of those areas, and if among those areas one region is just like heaven just imagine about the meals of that area. This is a sure thing that the foodstuff is also having the taste like heaven meals.

Wazwan is the most famous and old traditional dish of Kashmir. We will not be wrong if we entitled Wazwan as royal dish of the Kashmir and due to their hard lifestyle, the Kashmari people are known as meat eaters.

What is Wazwan?

Wazwan is not a dish that prepared in daily routine, but it fits for the special events like the family gathering, wedding, etc. This dish has approximately thirty-six sub-classes that most are prepared with meat that can be the red meat, chicken or fish meat. To make this dish more delicious and tasty it is prepared with the large amount of spicy ingredients. Let’s jump to the presentation of this royal dish now.

How Wazwan is served?

The table arrangement is made and every table has four guests seated around the table. Hand wash of the guests is done while they are setting on the table in Tasht-e-Nari (basin). After the hand wash, now it is time to serve the Wazwan in the different trays that are filled with rice, with some Kababs, more than three pieces of methi curry, and many other items of this royal dish. In Wazwan gathering, there are seven essential dishes is surely prepared with different types of ingredients.

The History of Wazwan

The history of Wazwan is started from the 15th century with Ameer Taimur an emperor that belonged from Samarkand an old city of the world. The Emperor sent many skilled people to Kashmir including the master chaffs that first make this traditionally valuable and symbolic assets of Kashmir valley, which is now presented all over the world as the Kashmir food item.
